Haven for Healing Reiki Clinic-
The Haven for Healing Reiki Clinic, located at 156 Liberty Street,
Rte 58, in Hanson, MA, is a weekly offering. Reiki (ray’-kee),
the operative modality in this Clinic, is a Japanese hands-on
healing technique that channels universal life force energy into
the body. Reiki helps to reduce stress and relax the body,
mind, and spirit. It is offered as an adjunct, not a
replacement, to traditional medical regimens. Because there are
no contraindications with Reiki, it is safe for any situation.
Treatment is by appointment; 30 minutes of hands-on and 15 minutes for
intake and recovery time. Clients are treated with compassion
and respect and nurtured by Volunteer Practitioners who are
certified in various levels of Reiki. A Reiki Master is also
present as an overseer, greeting and interviewing clients to
help establish goals for their sessions. Confidentiality is
strictly respected
Clients lie on a massage table, fully clothed, are made comfortable with
blankets and pillows, and are encouraged to relax to the sound
of quiet, soothing music while the Practitioners work on them.
To date, the people who have come to the Clinic for treatment have
varied in degree of health challenges; cancer victims, those
suffering from depression, M.S. patients, pre and post-surgical
patients, diabetics, headache victims caused by aneurysm and
migraines, people who are desperate for some measure of hope in
their lives that have been wracked with illness, and many other
scenarios, severe and otherwise.
We continue to maintain our free monthly Reiki Clinic the first Friday of each
month, from 7 to 9pm. The general public is welcome and no
appointment is necessary.

Annual
Women's Retreat-
|
|
One of our offerings is an annual "Feed Your Soul; A Day for
Yourself" Women’s Retreat. The inception of this event was
in 2001 when we decided on, and put together in a matter of 3
weeks, a day that offered a number of workshops on alternative
therapies and experiences. The Retreat was, and continues to be,
held at Camp Kiwanee in Hanson, a beautiful tree-studded acreage
dotted with cabins and a recreation lodge overlooking Maquan Pond.
Participants enjoy snacks, free between-workshop offerings such as
brief Reiki sessions and on-site massage, many workshop
choices that change yearly, a dinner and guest speaker at day's
end, and a fire and drumming ceremony to close.

We are delighted to report that our first fund-raising walk to
benefit the Haven for Healing Foundation, Inc.,
was a great success!
The day’s weather was a bit ominous, foreboding rain, but 28
walkers braved the elements on Saturday, June 14th, showed up at
Heidi’s Hollow Farm on Liberty Street in Hanson, and signed up
for the event. The weather turned out to be ‘just right’ for
a 5 mile walk, with the sun shining through about midway into
the walk, and the air being cool enough to be comfortable.
Sign-up, surrendering of sponsor sheets & monies collected, and
raffle ticket sales for a number of donated items, were taken
care of by Samantha Mahan, Stephanie Lipinski, Suzanne Hill, and
Annaliese Trigler. Annaliese and Krista Muise manned the water
station on Indian Head Street.
The journey took walkers down Rte 58 to the traffic lights at the
intersection of routes 27 & 58, and back to Heidi’s
Hollow. LeeAnn Trigler greeted walkers as they arrived at the
finish line, in her usual effluvient way, shouting
congratulations over her bullhorn
The list of raffle items is long; a Dreamweaver session with Jean
Beneducci, ½ hour Reflexology session with Debbie Blauss, 1
hour Therapeutic Massage with Suzanne Hill, 1 Wine Dinner &
1 Beer Dinner gift certificates donated by Ye Olde Hitching Post
Restaurant in Hanson, a basket from Ashleigh’s in Hanson
donated by Stephanie Lipinski, 10 $15.00 Gift Certificates
donated by Complements Hair Salon in Norwell, a large basket of
wine, cheese, crackers & ‘goodies’ from Myette’s
General Store of Hanson, a basket of beauty supplies donated by
Nancy Cappellini, a Reiki session donated by Karen Glazer, and a
Tuning Fork session donated by Betty Ciccarelli. Recipients were
delighted with the selections.
Tony, of Heidi’s Hollow Farm, graciously helped us set up our canopy
for the sign-up area, and, along with his wife, Linda,
generously donated an ice cream cone to ALL walkers and
assistants!
We feel extremely blessed to have had such a wonderful outcome for
our first event of this kind and have hopes of continuing the
tradition as successfully, and with such enthusiasm and
generosity of spirit as this year. Thanks to all for
assisting us in expanding our efforts at the Haven for
Healing Foundation.
